The Comptroller-General of Nigeria Customs Service, NCS, Col. Hameed Ibrahim Ali, rtd has arrived the National Assembly without wearing the complete Customs Uniform as directed by the Senate where he would appear before the Senators at the Chambers soon. _ Ali who arrived at around 9.30 am, went straight to the office of the Senate President, Senator Bukola Saraki. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Kaduna Zonal Office has intercepted an undeclared sum of N49 million at the Kaduna International Airport. _ Ibrahim Bappa, the Kaduna zonal head of the EFCC, while addressing journalists on Tuesday in Kaduna, said the money was stashed in five large 150 kilogramme coloured sacks ,following an intelligence report received by the zone. _ He said during a routine baggage screening of supposed check-in baggage, the five bags were sighted unattended to and without tags, “containing fresh bulk items suspected to be money from the aroma perceived from the sack. _ “The owner of the money later showed up but couldn’t state the exact money in the sack or present any document authenticating the genesis of the money. _ “However, his inability to give any concrete explanation made him become uncomfortable and he disappeared into thin air before the arrival of EFCC operatives,” the zonal head said. _ Mr. Bappa s...

The Nigerian Air Force has confirmed the arrest of an air force man, Lieutenant Kalu, for allegedly shooting dead his girlfriend, Solape Oladipupo, in Markudi, Benue State. _ The incident happened on Saturday at the NAF Tactical Air Command, Makurdi, Benue State.It punch learnt that the lady, popularly referred to as Shomzy, was allegedly shot dead by Kalu after he accused her of having a romantic affair with other men.

A man wearing a backpack was arrested by the Secret Service after he breached the White House fence. The man was discovered by a Secret Service agent just before midnight by the south entrance of the White House, and was promptly taken into custody. No hazardous materials were found in his backpack, and a search on the grounds yielded no further signs of danger.
