Firstly, I
will like to say a big thanks to the entire crew of
Artpaldeblogger.blogspot.com.....well Am Bryan Oluwagbemiga Adefuwa by name,
born a few years ago in the UK, Fulham precisely, to the fortunate family of Mr
and Mrs S.O Adefuwa. I hail from Ijebu-ode, Ogun state.
2. What was your background like?
Well I must tell you my background was
"Funnilically" fun and interestingly adventurous. Like i said, i
spent some of my early years in the UK, so shortly after a while, i was brought
back home so that I don't become a "born-throway" so to say but mind
you i no be "Tokunbo o", na man i be, no be goods like OKRIKA. I attended
GCI in Ibadan and also Ijebu Ode grammar school (IGS).But to be candid my
growing up was a very long thing.
3. How long have you been in the game?
Unofficially
since I was young, because i saw some videos my dad did of me from like age
3-10, so humour has been a part of me while growing up but officially since
2009.
4. What are the challenges so far?
Firstly, i
must tell you that nothing in this life comes without challenges, the way we
tackle the challenges is what differs. The challenges were fun in the sense
that when God makes way round them for me, i look back and just laugh over them.
Well the first challenge was from my family, my people were like "guy u
want to be a jester"? "Ko jo"! (No way). But i stood my ground
though it was tough. As God would have it, one day i was at an event with the
Grandpa of comedians, Mr Hallelujah Otuwoyota aka Ali Baba and a family friend
sent the shots of the event to my big sister. After that, polls of calls started
coming in asking for my service and sometimes, they over heard our
negotiations. And they were like "u dey use jazz talk to them or wetin”?
So i give God the glory for where i am today and where he's taking me to. Another
challenge was to be accepted in the industry, i toiled many events and shows
but eventually to the glory of God the brand DA 13th Disciple CFR is now on the
lips of showbiz practitioners across the land and also in some cooperate minds,
due to corporate jobs well done, all glory to God alone
For the motivation, i will say i have always
wanted be a point of attention since i was very young, i love art because while
i was very small in my school days there were times I tore all my school notes
making drawings. I love holding microphone and standing before crowd and i also
love cameras, you can confirm that from my manager Mr Temitope Fadeyi aka Ryu
Da1 of SplashFM105.5fm. I got
carried away the day I met Mr Bright Okpocha aka
Basket Mouth, while on a modelling job with Heartbeat magazine in 2008. Then I
had the believe that to be a good comedian , you have to go to Lagos, but Oga
Bright told me something ,he said, win your local battle then you will always
win the foreign ones.
6. Do you have a role model? Who are they?
My role model is anyone that has proven his/herself
in the industry locally. I mean here in I.B. city, the likes of Laf'Up, Mc
Solid, Peteru, Mc RapingDady, Shete etc. But the one who sparked me up and now my mentor is
BasketMouth.
7. When did you discover you have the talent
for comedy?
I knew i
would do well in comedy the very first time i handled a wedding ceremony alone
and this client came from a particular church where an elderly man told me i am
better an artist than a comedian but still, God turned the table in my favour.
8. What would you say differentiates you from
other comedians?
Well, one
major thing that differentiates me from others is the ability to crack ribs in
my mother tongue which is Ijebu language mixed with pigin (a Nigerian variant
of English) and standard English and people still enjoy what i do. Another
thing that differentiates me, hmm my dear sister, i no well ,no be say I sick
or I need doctor o. Ok let me say I CRASE no be small, just gimme the mic.
#Gbam!
9. Do you have a particular style?
As per a particular style or genre of
comedy? I am sorry, DA 13th Disciple is flexible and dynamic,
just give me a crowd, i will apply
the needed software and we are good to go.
10. What would you say has been the best moment
for you ever since you've started comedy?
I lost count of my best moments doing what i
love to do most because have had numerous times of such, but I can remember two
for now which both happened @MAUVE 21.The
first was during Comic Attack in 2014 and also during a copper's event in which
major radio gurus were present and my chairman
Chief Adebayo Akande CEO Splash105.5FM. I remember that my Ijebu style fetched
me extra-good cash from my chairman that day, added to the fact that I've been
the splash FM official Mc.
11. Please crack our ribs.
Oh?! Make I
crack una ribs?! Ok please get me a sledgehammer and just lay on your
back.....God knows with one strike from me even your diaphragm go crack.
12. Where do you see yourself in five years?
Ahaha! See
this babe o! Am sure u no get Christ for your life o! Five years?! My dear
sooner than you can imagine una no go fit hijack me for an interview like you
just did, that is a joke though. You guys remain my peep .But sincerely sooner
the brand DA 13th Disciple will
become a household name not only in naija but across the continent. In Jesus
mighty name amen.
13. What should your fans expect from you?
Firstly, i
have to say a very big thank you to all my fans from the start of the ladder
till this present moment, i love u all. And sooner we will be winning an award,
keep expecting banger materials from me.
14. What is your advice for upcoming art?
To all
upcoming, keep God first, respect those before you, beside you, behind you,
don't be in a hurry, and most importantly, believe in yourself. Please i love this
cute Host o! I love her pass the rest of una crew, hope i can go home with her
